In 1996, Julia Mandle founded J Mandle Performance, a Brooklyn-based, non-profit experimental arts organization, to help support the development and production of her public projects. Named after her grandmother's fashion design company, Mandle's organization has been instrumental in the creation of over twenty original works, many including dynamic cross-disciplinary collaborations.
The mission of the organization is to create performances, which cause audiences to pause and heighten their perception of everyday environments.
In 2012, J Mandle Performance was officially disbanded. If you wish to continue to support the work of Julia Mandle, you can still make tax-deductible contributions through Unique Projects. Please see "Support & Contribute" for further information or contact the artist's studio directly.
